About Shawn,

Canadian singer-songwriter Shawn Wilkie hails from Pictou, Nova Scotia and is a talented guitarist and vocalist in the Eastern Canada region. He primarily works and performs in the rock, blues, and country genres as a solo artist, and occasionally with others. Additionally, he writes and produces his own music in his home recording studio.

Shawn's passion for music began at an early age when he received his first guitar at the age of eight. He was exposed to all different styles of music at kitchen parties during his teenage years, before developing his own unique style while listening to his favourite rock and blues artists on vinyl records and cassettes. He joined his first school rock band as a teenager and has been performing with various bands and artists ever since. Shawn is a Veteran, who served in the Canadian military for 21 years and played in various bands and groups during his time of service, performing at outdoor music festivals and live music venues across Nova Scotia, Western Europe, Cyprus, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, PEI, and many other locations.

Although Shawn took a break from music for a period of time, he now feels a second wind coming, and is eager to come back. With over 35 years of experience in the industry, Shawn has accomplished a lot. He released a 3-song demo CD with his original band JADE, recorded at reelNORTH Recording Studios in Maryland, NB. He also formed a duo act called JusToo and played at various venues throughout the Maritimes over 8 years. He has opened for different artists over the years such as April Wine, Matt Minglewood, and Honeymoon Sweet. Most recently, he wrote and recorded a song called "If I Should Fall" as part of a compilation CD that was recorded by different veterans from across Canada, with all benefits going to Mental Health NB and their associated programs to help those who struggle with PTSD. The song is currently streaming on all music platforms and is available for purchase.

Songwriting has always been a passion for Shawn, and in recent years he has penned and recorded several new songs, including one new song recorded and released in 2022. He is currently developing his live show (a work in progress) and creating more original material in his home studio. Fans can look forward to hearing more great music from Shawn throughout 2023 and beyond as he embarks on this exciting new chapter in his musical journey.
